Service terms

The terms, in plain language.

This page summarizes how Legible Online starter website projects work. The full service terms are provided with every Stripe invoice and can be sent as a PDF before payment — just ask.

Payment and acceptance

The standard offer is $750 setup + $99/month managed hosting/support, or $1,500 upfront for setup plus the first 12 months of hosting/support. Payment is collected through a secure Stripe invoice or payment link. The setup fee is due before the production build and launch work begins. Paying an invoice or confirming a project in writing indicates acceptance of the terms sent with it.

What the standard service includes

  • A mobile-ready starter website: services, service area, click-to-call, contact/estimate form, trust and proof sections
  • SEO foundations: titles, descriptions, headings, alt text, crawlable pages
  • Domain connection, SSL, and hosting setup
  • One consolidated pre-launch revision round
  • A 30-day post-launch stabilization period, included with setup

New pages beyond the agreed scope, redesigns after approval, ecommerce, booking systems, CRM integrations, ads, full SEO campaigns, domain email setup, and automation systems are not included by default — they're quoted separately if you want them.

Monthly support and billing

For the monthly option, the first $99 charge is normally scheduled 30 days after your site launches. Monthly support covers hosting administration, SSL and domain connection support, contact form delivery support, uptime checks, and reasonable small edits (phone number, hours, typos, photo swaps, short wording changes). Larger requests are quoted before any work starts.

Support isn't 24/7 emergency service. Site-down or form-broken issues get priority, normally acknowledged within one business day; normal small edits are usually handled within 1–3 business days once exact replacement content is provided.

Cancellation

Monthly hosting/support is month-to-month, not a locked one-year contract. You can cancel anytime by emailing zach@legibleonline.com; cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. The setup fee covers the build work and isn't refunded on cancellation of support. The annual prepay covers the first 12 months and isn't an automatic renewal.

Your content, your domain

Your business information, approved copy, and the photos you provide belong to you. You should own your domain whenever possible; Legible can help connect it. If Legible manages a domain for you, you're treated as the beneficial owner, and there's a reasonable transfer path if you ever leave — after open invoices and registrar requirements are resolved. Legible's reusable templates and internal systems remain Legible's.

Reviews, photos, and claims

Demos may use public business info as placeholders, but nothing goes on your live site without your approval — including reviews, photos, and claims like licensing, warranties, or years in business. You're responsible for confirming that the materials and claims you approve are accurate and yours to use.

Revisions

The starter site includes one consolidated pre-launch revision round — send your corrections together rather than one at a time. During the first 30 days after launch, launch-related issues (broken links, form routing, layout bugs, missed details) get fixed as part of setup.

Refunds and billing issues

Because the setup work is custom and front-loaded, the setup fee is generally non-refundable once production work begins. If something is wrong because of Legible's setup, the normal remedy is a fix within scope. If you ever have a billing issue, email first — it will get corrected, refunded, or documented properly before anything escalates.

Portfolio use

Since finished websites are public, Legible may reference your completed public site as an example unless you ask otherwise in writing. Private numbers, lead counts, and internal communications are never shared. Testimonials and named quotes require your separate permission.

No guaranteed results

Legible builds the website and installs proper SEO foundations, but does not guarantee search rankings, lead volume, or revenue. The site's job is to make sure people who already find you — through referrals, Google, or ads — can trust you and contact you easily.

Note: this is a practical summary, not legal advice or the complete agreement. The full service terms sent with your invoice control the project. Questions? Email zach@legibleonline.com.
